Tulum is well known for its hotel scene, mainly compromised of small, privately owned boutique beach hotels. Big-name resorts and chains won’t be found here, which is part of the charm and allure of Tulum and provides such a unique experience.
During my most recent trip, I stayed at NEST Tulum, an 11-bedroom beachfront bungalow that opened in 2015 and is mainly referral based. Upon arriving we were warmly welcomed by one of the owners and staff and shown around the beautiful grounds – a complete jungle paradise! Simplicity is the name of the game here, but we had everything we needed and in a way felt pampered between the amazing service, rooms with beautiful smelling bath products, fresh food and the free Mezcal happy hour each day at 5 pm.
After spending a night here, you start to feel like one big happy family, which is why many of the guests we met keep coming back again and again. It’s like a home away from home. I now feel like I’m part of the NEST family, and I can’t wait until my next stay!
